Full Bio

One of Australia’s Brightest Young Sprinters

Raw speed, composure, and an unrelenting competitive edge define this rising Gold Coast star. The reigning Australian Under 20 400m Champion and a nine-time junior national titleholder, Seth Kennedy has cemented himself as one of the nation’s most naturally gifted young sprinters. Known for his precision on the track and leadership off it, he represents the next generation of elite Australian sprint talent — poised to make a major mark on the world stage.

A Remarkable Return

In 2025, Seth delivered one of the standout performances of the Queensland GPS Championships. After a 15-week recovery from a hamstring injury, he stormed back with a blistering personal best of 46.62 seconds in the 400m — finishing second only to global sprint phenomenon Gout Gout (46.14). Their duel produced one of the fastest school-level races ever witnessed in Australia.

Earlier that day, Seth etched his name into the record books by breaking Gout’s long-standing 200m competition record, clocking 20.64 seconds. This extraordinary double showcased his power, composure, and championship temperament — reinforcing his status as a future Australian representative.

Strength, Leadership, and Vision

As Track and Field Captain at Brisbane Grammar School, Seth is admired for far more than his times. His professionalism, humility, and ability to inspire younger athletes have earned him widespread respect. A natural leader, he exemplifies sportsmanship and elite-level work ethic — qualities that set him apart as much as his performances do.

Eyes on the Future

Although injury sidelined him from the 2025 World Junior Championships, Seth’s focus remains unwavering. With the support of Grow for Gold, he is targeting:

  • Selection for the 2026 World Junior Team

  • Progression through the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle

  • Representing Australia on home soil at the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games

Driven, disciplined, and destined for greatness, Seth Kennedy is a young sprinter with the potential to redefine Australian athletics — and his journey is only just beginning.
