One of Australia’s Fastest Rising Sprinters

Thewbelle Philp is one of the most electrifying young sprinters in Australia — a powerful, technically refined athlete whose raw speed has placed her among the nation’s elite. Her breakout moment came at the 2024 Australian All Schools Athletics Championships, where she clocked a blistering 11.38 seconds in the Under 17 100m. This extraordinary time made her the third-fastest Under 18 female sprinter in Australian history, sitting only behind legends Raelene Boyle (11.20) and Torrie Lewis (11.33).

Her combination of top-end speed, race intelligence, and technical precision has positioned her as one of the brightest prospects in track sprinting.

From Promise to Performance

Thewbelle’s rise has been shaped by maturity, professionalism, and an unrelenting drive to improve every day. A multiple-time state and national medallist, she continues to refine her craft under elite coaching, building the strength, technique, and discipline required to compete at the highest level.

Coaches consistently highlight her attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to execute under pressure — qualities that set her apart in one of the sport’s most competitive disciplines.

Focused on the Future

Currently training with elite relay squads and edging closer to senior national team selection, Thewbelle has her sights firmly set on representing Australia at future Commonwealth Games and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. Her trajectory reflects the path of an athlete destined for major championships, driven by ambition and a deep desire to compete on the world stage.

Purpose, Power, and Perseverance

Balancing elite competition with school, community commitments, and personal goals, Thewbelle continues to demonstrate discipline and resilience well beyond her years. Her journey embodies hard work, humility, and the belief that every race is an opportunity to rise higher. Through Grow for Gold, she is developing the tools, support, and confidence to become one of the next great Australian sprinters.
